14.12.11: Presentation and Discussion in English - "Drew Hayden Taylor – Native Canadian Story Teller and Dramatist"

09.12.2011 21:17

Drew Hayden Taylor is a Native Canadian playwright, humourist and novelist. Originally an Ojibway from the Curve Lake First Nations in Ontario, he is travelling the world to act as – he describes himself – a “contemporary story teller in whatever form”.

Motivated by a desire to educate and inform people from all over the world about Canada’s First Nations, he will talk about the development of Native Canadian theatre as well as his own evolution as a notable Native voice within contemporary Canada. In his presentation – as in his work - he will bridge the gap between telling stories around the campfire to the stage/television and the printed world.
